Link reblogged from Libraries in Video Games with 15 notes
We mentioned that we’d post about Librarians on YouTube! :) They’ve dropped us a line. I just knew that #librarians tag was going to come in handy someday…
Just discovered your blog, excellent work!
I’ve actually been compiling a list of librarians portrayed in video games for quite some time now … I’ve found a lot of interesting and obscure titles (including many with libraries to explore as well), so I hope you’ll visit and take a look so you can add them to your list:

There’s over 200 entries right now, with more on the way (I’m working on my own backlog) so I just picked one of my more recent ones … A Buenos Aires library in “Prisoner of Ice“ (PC, 1995).
Anyway, just wanted to applaud your efforts for getting the word out that libraries/librarians can be a part of the video game landscape too :)
Right on! :)
Here’s what the Librarians on YouTube blog is about:
I’ve become fascinated with the portrayal of this profession in popular culture, particularly those depictions which have made their way onto Youtube … As such, I decided long ago to begin cataloging as many instances of these representations as I could find on the popular video-sharing site.
A worthy mission indeed, love it!
